Mrs Cynthia Sheerman is a remarkable person. I was first introduced to Mrs Sheerman in 1993 by liz Edmonds at Wandsworth Show when I was showing my new 4 year old Novice Navestock Flashman. Mrs Sheerman was interested in him but was understandably cautious as he was only a 4 year old at the time, On learning from Liz that Mrs Sheerman was a kind and caring lady towards her horses I suggested she take him for the winter and try him out. He never returned home to me and went on to be a wheeler in Mrs Sheerman's successful randem and tandem for many seasons. Mrs sheerman asked me to look for another horse for her of similar breeding and I tracked down Navestock Marksman whom I myself had much success in the private Drive ring, He had been a very successful Working Hunter pony for many years and went straight back in harness after about 8 years off as if it was yesterday. Together Mrs Sheerman and Marksman with a combine age of 105 have continued to be placed at most outings throughout the south of England, their latest success is winning the BDS Veteren class 2008. They have a very special relationship and its heart warming to see the respect they have for one another. Through my horses I have made a very special knowledgeable friend in Mrs Sheerman and at 84 years young she is an inspiration to us all whom sometimes feel at half her age we are "getting too old" for the showring.
